The open day at the Bølkhøj farm was a great success. 220 people visited the farm of the Cornelissen family on September 8. Visitors were given a tour through the stables and viewed the manure- and sand separation system in operation.
"At this moment the sustainable separation system saves us € 40.000,- each year." - tells the owner of the farm to his guests.
This open day was organised together with SEMEX.
"The cows are comfortable in the sand bedding. The sand-laden manure is collected in the manure pit. From here the mixture is pumped into the pit where the One Shot is installed. The manure and sand are blended with recycled water so the One Shot can do it's work. The One Shot filters the sand out of the water mixture and can be reused in the cubicles within three weeks. This way, approximately 95 percent of the sand is reused. The separated manure is sold and transported to a biogas installation. The manure combined with other organic materials is processed into biogas and upgraded to clean energy."
